What to expect

Whether you’re planning a wedding or celebrating a milestone, my goal is to craft a photography experience that fits seamlessly into your day — supporting you to focus on living life! From our first conversation to the final gallery delivery, you can relax into the process knowing that I’ve got your back.

I’m passionate about noticing the magic in every moment, and the experience I want to create for my clients is about natural enjoyment. Suppose you’re nervous in front of a camera (which is totally normal). In that case, I’ll help guide you so you can trust that the images are naturally flattering, capturing your best self. We’ll make it fun, keeping the energy light and natural, laughing a lot, and focusing on the real, raw spark of connection you share — with one another, the landscape around you, and even with yourself.

What is it like to work with Aly?

STEP ONE

Set up a time to connect with me, and we can chat about your vision and my package options to see if we’re a great fit!

STEP TWO

Woohoo, let’s make it official! We’ll decide on your package and the date, timing, and location for your session. I’ll make sure the contract & invoicing process is quick, easy, and straightforward. Whether it’s your wedding day or an outdoor shoot involving outfit changes, trail conditions, and Montana weather, we’ll stay in touch to plan out all of the details!

STEP THREE

The big day! My role is to gently guide and enthusiastically support you throughout your experience, making it easy to actually enjoy your time in front of the camera (promise!) with a sense of ease, fun, and freedom. After all, the photos are about you!

STEP FOUR

For portrait sessions, you’ll receive a private gallery within the month (on average 1-2 weeks). For weddings, you’ll receive your full gallery of photographs within 4-7 weeks.

  • Of course! I love meeting up with clients prior to booking (especially wedding clients) to make sure we are a good fit! If you are outside of the Bozeman area or have a super busy schedule, FaceTime is a great way to chat and get to know each other.

  • Yes! This is super, super important for any business and most venues require their vendors to show proof of insurance before working there.

  • I shoot with two Nikon D750’s, prime lenses (24, 50, 85), and an assortment of lighting equipment including off camera flash. I love, love, love natural light but not all situations (think, reception) have, or can be shot in, natural light. I’ve spent lots of time honing my lighting skills to be able to create beautiful images no matter the situation.

  • You will receive your images in a private, online gallery which is live for 10 years upon delivery. You are able to share the link and password with others as well as download and print your images from this site. You will also receive a print release which gives you the printing rights to your photos.

  • Intimate, playful, true to life colors with a bit of a punch. I want to bring out the true ‘you’ in your session and shoot with a documentary style in order to preserve your memories and day as they were. I’m not one for trendy filters or color changes because these will most likely look dated in 5, 10, or 15 years. Instead, I want you to have timeless, beautiful photos to share for years to come! In keeping true to you, I don’t photoshop or overly edit your face and/or body. I do minor touch-ups for stubborn acne and may smooth out skin as needed but that’s about it :)

  • You wouldn’t buy a painting for 3k and then let a toddler color over it with Crayola markers, right? Right. I’ve spent many, many hours (and too many episodes of Grey’s) editing photos to create that punchy, contrasty, but timeless look which you’re hiring me for. If you’re looking for a different style I’d be happy to refer you to other photographers!
