A Summer Wedding at Copper Rose Ranch | Kaitlyn + Lucas
Kaitlyn and Lucas’s wedding day at Copper Rose Ranch was the kind of celebration that reminded everyone in the room what a wedding is really about: family, history, and the people who helped shape you into who you are.
From the very beginning, it was clear how deeply connected Kaitlyn and Lucas are to their families. Their wedding day wasn’t simply about celebrating their marriage—it was an opportunity to honor the people they love most and weave those relationships into the story of their day.
Some of the most meaningful moments happened before the ceremony even began, as Kaitlyn and Lucas exchanged sentimental gifts with their parents and grandparents. Every gift carried a story and a little piece of their family history, making these quiet moments some of the most emotional of the entire day.
One especially touching detail was a recording of a grandmother reading part of their wedding ceremony. Having her voice included in the ceremony allowed her to be present in such a personal way, creating a keepsake that Kaitlyn and Lucas will be able to return to for years to come.
Kaitlyn also surprised her dad with a particularly meaningful gift: cufflinks made with his dad’s fingerprints. It was such a small, personal detail, but one that perfectly captured the thoughtfulness behind so many of the choices they made throughout their wedding day.
And then there was the truck.
For their first date, Kaitlyn and Lucas drove around in a red truck that had become part of their story together. Lucas went above and beyond to make sure it could be part of their wedding day, shipping the truck all the way to Montana as a surprise for Kaitlyn. Seeing it waiting for them on their wedding day was such a fun and unexpected way to bring a piece of their beginning into the celebration of everything they were stepping into together.
Their portraits around Copper Rose felt quintessentially Montana—wide-open fields, soft summer light, mountains stretching across the horizon, and of course the classic Paradise Valley wind. Their pup even joined them for a few photos in the truck, making the portraits feel less like a traditional wedding photoshoot and more like a glimpse into their life together.
Kaitlyn and Lucas, your day was such a beautiful reflection of the two of you. Full of intention, sentiment, laughter, family, and so many little reminders of where your story began. I’m so grateful I got to document it!
