Abi + Scott | Big Sur Elopement
Some weddings feel less like an event and more like a deep breath — intentional, emotional, and completely centered on what matters most. Abi and Scott’s elopement along the rugged coastline of Big Sur was exactly that. Their day started at their treehouse-like Airbnb that was tucked into the woods in Monterey, California, and felt completely magical as the first rays of sunlight warmed the trees.
Abi and Scott’s family and close friends watched from the deck of the house while these two shared private vows in the most perfect setting. Then we loaded up the cars, people, dogs, and snacks before heading down the coast to Garrapata State Park for their ceremony.
Abi and Scott chose to exchange vows in an intimate ceremony overlooking the ocean — just the two of them with their family’s and two close friends, the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below, and a landscape that felt almost sacred in its stillness.
Their ceremony was beautiful, personal, and deeply them. There were tears, laughter, and the kind of vows that make you forget a camera is even there. Moments like these are why elopements are so powerful — every word lands differently when there’s space to truly feel it and no rush to stick to a timeline.
Abi’s dress moved effortlessly in the coastal breeze while Scott couldn’t stop smiling at her. The simplicity of the day allowed their connection to take center stage.
After their ceremony, we continued slowly down the coastline, embracing one of the best parts of a Big Sur elopement — the freedom to explore. We pulled off along Highway 1 to soak in sweeping views of Bixby Creek Bridge, watching clouds drift above and listening to the waves crashing far below. Each stop felt unplanned and perfectly timed, allowing Abi and Scott to simply be together and take it all in. We finished the afternoon wandering through the dramatic shoreline of Pfeiffer Beach, where rugged rock formations, salty air, and endless ocean views created the kind of quiet, cinematic moments that make Big Sur elopements so unforgettable.
