In Home Newborn Session

It was -34 when I left my house to drive to capture this in-home newborn session outside of Bozeman. I was very grateful that we’d be inside a warm, cozy house to document Kennedy and her new parents.

While studio sessions are a popular choice, in-home newborn sessions offer a unique and intimate experience. The home is a sanctuary of comfort and familiarity, both for the parents and the newborn. Choosing an in-home session allows you to relax in your own space, making it easier for the baby to feel at ease. This comfort often translates into more natural and candid moments!

In-home sessions also provide the opportunity to incorporate meaningful elements into the photos. Whether it's a cherished nursery, a cozy reading nook, or a family heirloom, the backdrop becomes a canvas that reflects your personality and story. The resulting images are not only beautiful but also deeply personal.

Newborns have their schedules too! In-home sessions offer flexibility in timing, allowing me to work around the baby's feeding and sleeping patterns. This flexibility ensures a more relaxed atmosphere, contributing to the overall success of the photo shoot.

For families with older children or beloved pets, in-home sessions provide an opportunity to include everyone in the frame. Siblings and furry friends can be a significant part of the newborn's story, and capturing these interactions in the comfort of home adds an extra layer of authenticity to the photos.

Bringing a newborn to a studio can be challenging for parents, especially considering the logistics of travel and the needs of a newborn. In Montana, it’s cold 8 months out of the year and in-home sessions eliminate worrying about the weather, eliminate the stress of packing up and traveling, and allow you to focus on your baby and enjoy a more relaxed experience.
